Been doing some reading here and have found that I should not have replaced bunk with treated wood, boat does not stay on trailer, but was wondering if I could paint the wood before i put the carpet back or should i just bite the bullet and and swap it out . Thanks for input guys.

If the boat is not stored on the trailer then it would be easy and cheap to replace the wood.

Yeah you don't want the chemicals reacting with the aluminum.

I'm amazed by the amount of people who make a note when selling their pontoon that it has a new pressure treated deck and new pressure treated bunks....someone is going to get stuck with that unfortuantly

That's what I did ,so far no problem's, I painted the wood then added the carpeting then I covered the bunks with those plastic skids .The entire bunks.

By the time you cover the wood with carpet glue and carpet there won't be any bad chemicals getting to the toons. I also use the Heavy Duty outdoor rubberbacked carpet runner stuff for my bunks so there is an actual barrier between the wood and boat.
