Transom Saver assembly

I purchased a "Swivl-eze" transom saver last night. When I got it home, there were no instructions as to how to assemble the loose pieces. I did a quick job and have it working but will have to look it over again tonight to be sure I have it together "properly". (I do have an extra pc.!) Any tips? Also, on the back of the unit (invisible to the consumer while in the package) is a notice that this is to used with engines equiped with power tilt and controls only. What the heck!! Can anyone please let me know if I'm asking for trouble by using this thing as my 25 hp outboard is not equiped with power tilt. Thanks

Howdy, SRJ.

Be very sure that the unit is firmly attached to the trailer and to the leg of your engine. Otherwise the engine will bounce out of it and fall.

Power T&T engines use their hydraulic cylinders to hold the engine on the saver and absorb shocks.

Good luck. :)

Re: Transom Saver assembly

Hey JB,
Thanks, I WILL be sure that all is secure.
I don't really need to use this locally (Windsor, Ontario) but I'm heading up north this weekend and I'll be traveling some "rough" roads heading into camp.

SRJ,

Make sure you do not run the trim cylinders all the way down when the motor is sitting on the saver.

Just run the trim down until the saver is held down in place by the trim-0not the weight of the engine!!

Since you will be traveling rough roads, you do not want the saver to pop out and have your engine fall. The trim cyl's will hold it up if the saver falls out.

Learned that one the hard way.
