Re: transom mounting plate

Depends on the transducer, style, manufacturer, etc. Transducers must operate in smooth water as they cannot read through air or bubbles. So they must not only be properly spaced from each other but from objects under the boat as well. Strakes, rows of rivets, etc., can affect operation of the transducer.

Re: transom mounting plate

Typically in reading the installation instructions for fish finder type transducers, they will say not to put or run the cables close together due to frequency interference between the two or more cables. The further a part the better and I believe some instructions may mention the distance allowed between them.

Good luck.:)

Do transducers transmit when Chartplotter/sounder is 'ON" and CHART is selected, or does it transmit only when the set
is selected to "SONAR" ?
