E40elcde. Looking to add power trim/tilt to this motor. I have found a power trim unit with the transom mounting plates from an 85 115 hp. I know the 115 and the 40 call for different part numbers but it really looks like it mite work. Do you think that an 86 40 hp motor could bolt up to an 85 115 hp mounting plate? I wish I had the parts in hand to try it but they are an 8 hour drive away. If it is possible I'll go get it if not you can save me the drive/ferry ride.

Thanks

I believe the 40 has a different swivel pin (smaller) than the 115 (you are talking quite a bit of difference in horse power here). I don't think it will work if I am reading you correctly.

Didn't think it would, but it was worth a try. Don't mind saving a few hundred bucks if I can. Thanks for the insight guys.
