I am looking for guidance for mounting a Humminbird transducer to the transom of my 2007 Sea Ray 175 sport bow rider with stern drive. Primarily I would like to know if you have any suggestions for mounting without drilling into the hull and if you have any good ideas for mounting the wire to the transom.

I agonized over the same thing when my boat was brand new,
but the only way to do it requires drilling some holes.

I used a Sternsaver block on mine. (http://sternsaver.com/) It seems to work well. You "glue" the block onto the boat, and then drill into the block.
Concept is good. Wish they had a larger version back when I did mine

I ended up drilling/filling/drilling for a 12” board. Needed to mount two transducers and paddle wheel f

I used these adhesive backed zip tie anchors and small zip ties to secure the transducer cable to the transom.

You could probably find the same thing at an auto parts store or Home Depot or Menards.
It's surprising, the adhesive even holds below the water line. That said, my boat doesn't sit in the water.
Just clean the surface you're going to stick em too and you'll be good. You might have one come loose every couple years, , maybe.

I guess if you just click on the blue McMaster Carr that is the link to the zip tie anchors.

On the zip tie anchors I would replace the adhesive tape with 3M VHB tape. I used them to anchor solar wiring on my trailer and the original adhesive failed, but the replacement VHB has been holding a long time.
The Sternsavers look like a good option for the transducer if you don’t have bottom paint. You’d need a really clean surface for an adhesive to work with those loads.

My experience with the adhesive on those zip tie anchors is they will either stick for 5 minutes or 5 years. Cleaning the surface you stick em too is imperative. Might be a good idea to use the 3M VHB tape.

I cut a 3"x3" square of cutting board and screwed the transducer mount into that and then using marine loctite epoxy, glued the cutting board to the transom. This was about 8 years ago or so and its still holding fine with zero new holes to worry about. I then zip-tied the wire for the transducer to the existing pitot hose.
