I have a mid 80's 50HP VRO Evinrude. I am not sure of the exact year and the original transome mounting bracket is gone, there is no model number on the motor. I need to replace the transome mount. The current mount is only the Engine Side which is what I need instructions on getting out. This is the Swivel with the two bolts on the top and the Steering Pivot.
Can someone tell me how to access the two top bolts?
Does anyone have detailed removal instructions or diagram?
Do I need to drop the lower unit?
Will the Shifting rod stay with the power head or stay with the lower unit if I need to drop it?
I have a Power Trim and Tilt Swivel and transom mounting bracket I am going to be replacing it with.
I also have questions on how to wire up a two wire T/T pump. I have relays but there are way to many wires and I am not grasping how I am going to reverse polarity for up and down with only two wires. Three I can understand because of the common ground.
