I just picked my boat up today, $934 to change the timing cover gasket, front oil seal, and shift cable. Now water is leaking through the transom into the bilge. Did they have to remove the outdrive to change that shift cable? Could they have caused this? BTW its a volvo 3.0gl..

Re: Transom leak!

The shift cable can be replaced without removing the drive.

I would recommend taking it back to the dealer and have them take a look at it. While it is possible that their cable installation has caused the water leak, there are many other more likely sources for the water to enter.
