Are outboard and I/O transoms designed differenctly? I ask because I have a 93 Four Winds fish and ski outboard. It appears behind about 1/2 thick gelcoat and fiberglass there is just a piece of plywood bolted through the motor bolts etc inside the boat.

Understand that, so is it easier to fix outboard transoms? I ask because where the garboard(sp?) drain was installed the didnt seal it very well, the plywood on the inside is rotted about a inch down, the top is rock solid the right and left are solid, just about a inch of rot below the garboard drain.
