Transom Clamps?

I'm in the process of replacing an outboard on a 1979 Monark 16' Jon Style bass boat. <br /><br />I'm putting a 1980 70hp Johnson on it, but have one problem. The old motor had clamps for reinforcement on the transom, but the 70hp does not. <br /><br />Do I need to be concerned about this, as long as the motor is securely bolted on to the transom?

Make sure you use all 4 bolts and put caulk in the holes, Boat Life Life Caulk or 3M 4200.
