Just wanted to make sure I did this right.Had a couple of cracks on either side of the top of transom so I drilled a 3/16" hole 4" up from the bottom and hit good dry wood.No water or anything.Filled hole with Marine-Tex, drove a ss wood screw in while it was setting up and beaded the head with silicone to seal the hole good.

I believe my transom is good now I just have to deal with those cracks alittle better.(right??) :D

Re: Transom check

don't have a clue for the ss screw & silicone..

now you mite have caused a raceway for water to channel in..

silcone DOES NUTHIIN' ... over time it lifts...

just do/go the 'tex' route... fill the hole/crack ... job done...
