Transistor Voltage Regulator 1970

My wiring diagram for my 1970 Mercruiser 120 says there is a Transistor Voltage Regulator. Is that on the engine? Or will it be mounted in the builge somewhere near the wiring harness for it?

My old 1966 had it mounted high on the inside of the transom

The regulator can be mounted in several locations but most often on the the transom or side engine bulkhead

See it is a 1981 boat and had a 1981 120 hp, but the guy didn’t winterize it and it was seized when I got it. I put a 1970 engine out of a working boat in. Putting it in was the easy part, now I need all this other stuff to make it essentially 11 years older.

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,..... It's a 'ell of alot easier to swap just the long blocks, keepin' all the accessories from the newer motor,....
