Transducer removal problem

I'm trying to install a set of Smart Tabs and have come across a problem. The previous owner had installed a fish finder and mounted the transducer where tabs need to go. It's mounted with a pair of screws, but he slathered the back side of the mount and the screws white slightly gummy adhesive. I CAN NOT get these screws to move at all. My only thought is to drill the screws and get them flush with the transom. Anyone have any other ideals on what I can do.

Thanks

BTW: The Transducer is trash and will be replaced anyways, so I don't care what happens to it.
