Trailering an Inboard Ski Boat

I'm thinking about buying a Ski Tique, but I am concerned about launching, recovering and general drivability. The trailer has guards for the prop that sit really low to the ground and I worry about getting hung up on a ramp. The trailer is a Correct craft. I drive a Grand Marquis and have lot's of outboard boating experience, but no inboards (yet).
Anyone with experience and advice?

I'm no expert but if you look at the trailer/boat combo it should be balanced right around the axles or slightly behind them. This is the same theory as the oil pan on your car, as long as there are wheels on you won't have a problem. Thats just the way I think about it...

That's kind of what I was thinking. I'm trying to visualize what happens when you drive the trailer over rough bottom at a ramp - of course if its far enough in the water the stern of the boat will still be floating and won't be adding its weight to the trailer.

Don't worry about it. A Ski Tique is a great boat with a great trailer. The part of the trailer you are referring to is designed to protect the prop and does a good job of it. A Grand Marquis will pull it just fine. The Nautique and trailer are a great package to work on and trailer. You won't have a problem at the ramp and if you do it will be a "no brainer".

Buy the boat, have fun, ski, and enjoy yourself. You are talking about purchasing the best of breed and it will not disapoint you.

Have fun.

sea horse,

The boat/trailer set up is great. They set these units up perfectly.

I'm more concerned about your Grand Marquis.

If it's a 98 or newer, your tow rating is 1500 pounds. It's not the engine/trans. that's the question, it's the body.

I don't care what hitch they sold you, if it's over 1500, expect BIG problems.
