Trailer with bunks but no keel rollers

Hey guys

So after having enough of trying to drag the boat over my carpet bunks I brought some uhmwpe to put over the carpet so the boat slides on and off easy. My next concern is my trailer doesn't have any keel rollers so for me to get the boat on the trailer I have to drag it up or put the trailer so deep the waters going up the door. I mainly do beach launch.

I've attached pics below of the rear of my trailer. What's the best way to get a keel roller at the back so it can pull the boat up onto the trailer without super deep.
Cheers

Do you have the same issues without keel rollers Mike?

With bunk trailers that's just the nature of the beast! If you're doing mainly shallow water launches then I think you've got the wrong trailer.

agreed. Keep your tow vehicle dry especially in salt water.

Consider a power winch-it is expensive but will save you in all kinds of ways in the long run. Cut a slope on the end of the bunks, put a rolleron the end of the trailer to catch the bow, don't sink the trailer too deep, sit back and enjoy the sweet sound of the winch working for you!

Thanks guys, I have just purchased a power winch so should arrive in the next day or so! As for cutting a slope at the end of the bunks do you mean cut then reattach slopped or just cut the very end on an angle?

Also for a keel roller on the end, how would you suggest attaching this? The closest frame where the bunk attachs to is about 40+cm away from the end.

I would either get a roller trailer or find a launch ramp.

haha dam it Alwhite not what I wanted to hear  It's weird that this trailer in the factory one dam thing!
Annoyingly enough here in New Zealand we don't have a huge amount of places with ramps. Alot is just beach launching and roller trailers are around $5000 - $7000

The trailer design is 'float on', used on most deep 'V' hulls I seen, which really means float about half way on, then power on or winch from there. Expect to have problems frequently associated with back-yard engineering ...
