I have a few spots on my trailer I need to touch the paint up on due to chipped paint/rust spots forming. My trailer is a dark brown color. Anyone ever have any luck with matching up the paint on these trailers? I would like to eventually paint the trailer a totally different color, but due to current circumstances won't be able to do that for awhile.

Re: trailer touch up

Take a paint chip for match up.

I planned on doing so. My question is more geared towards are the paints the trailer manufacturers use(EZ Loader) anything special, or are they more your run of the mill colors? I know I bought some primer that looked close on the cap for when I installed my boat buckles and it wasn't even close after spraying it on, but it was hidden anyways. I was more concerned with covering where the paint had been rubbed off by the old straps before installing the boat buckles. May have to take the trailer to the paint place and see what they can do to match it up.

They should be able to match it pretty close. As far as I was told, the paint used on boat trailers is typically like automotive paint.
