Trailer Titleing

Is there anyway to get a title on a trailer that I have. I got it from someone that left it at a friends. It's to new to get a homebuilt title. Any ideas?<br /> Thanks , Larry

RRV, you need to contact the DMV in your state. Requirements vary from state to state. Where I live, boat trailers don't require registration tags, hence no title.

Ayuh,..........<br /><br />In New York state, you can put a Homebuilt title on about Any trailer.......<br />All they want to know is the Color,+ Net Weight...........

Same here. No title or license required, although there is some kind of state of oregon sticker on my trailer with numbers on it...not really sure what it's for. :)

in NC you can claim anything is a homebuilt<br /><br />You just have to make sure the tag matches the number on the trailer<br /><br />Here in NC there is no such thing as a boat trailer<br /><br />Most of the people I know have 1 tag and 2 or more trailers...

Thats funny about the 1 tag, 2+ trailers. I've done that for years. In PA, trailers are titles just like cars. Getting a trailer without a title is a huge PITA.

oregon is less than 1800 lb load and or utility trailosr are no registration, no plates, title, etc.
