I need to replace my trailer tires because of dry rot (only three years old and less than 700 miles). Who makes the best trailer tire? Is there any advantage to using a radial tire on a boat trailer?

Re: Trailer Tires

Radials tend to run cooler.

The important thing is to make sure you use "ST" type tires.

They are specially designed for trailers. Car/truck tires are NOT the same.

Re: Trailer Tires

Johnnie, I would advise NOT going to CARLISLE tires. Out of five, I had 2 tread separations and 3 blowouts. I was spending more time along side the road and at tire shops than on the water. It was difficult to find someone who would adjust CARLISLES. I went to GOODYEAR MARATHONS.
