Trailer tire question

Hey everyone!! I got a new tire mounted on my rim today. I came home and put it on my trailer. I then noticed that it is a "C" tire and my other one is a "B" tire. The tires are the same size, but the "C" tire max air pressure is 90 psi and the "B" is 60 psi. The wife says to "stop worrying about it." I'm just asking for others' opinions. Thanks!!

I thought about this problem, and then I thought about it some more. I came to the conclusion that you only have one situation in which to be worried. It is this. Do not pump up "B" to match "C".

Endeavor To Persevere.

always fill to recomended sidewall pressure it 1 says 60 and the other 90 do so dont put more or less air in them to match the other.

Those are the MAX numbers with "at the limit" load....75% of that will be fine I would think. (unless you're at the limit).
Again, like JB said...DWAT

Re: Trailer tire question

The difference between the 'B' and 'C' is the load rating.

And a higher load rating tire will need more air pressure to keep its shape while doing it.

For example: A 18 wheeler truck that can carry 80,000 lb. might have a tire pressure of 100psi. That what it needs to for the tires to keep their shape under those weight conditions.

In that fine print on the sides of both your tires--- look at the max. load rating. One will be noticeably higher.

If I don't have my wires crossed, the 'C' tire is better than the 'B' in that it can hold more pressure in order to keep its proper shape

--- not look half flat, which leads ot overheating--- and can carry more weight.

Re: Trailer tire question

Thanks, guys!! I pumped the "C" only to 60 psi in order to match the "B" tire. I appreciate all of the feedback.

Re: Trailer tire question

Re: Trailer tire question

I was under the impression that a b was supposed to have 32-35 psi, a c 50psi, a d 60psi and an e 80psi.

I think it depends on the size, type, brand, & load range. Not just loadrange.

I have 13" GoodYear Marathon Radials "C" & they are 50#
