Re: Trailer rollers

properly space they should be under the stringers of the boat. they should carry about 1/3 the load each. you don't want all the strain on the keel. with all the weight on the keel rollers you are putting an extreme amount of stress in just 2 or 3 places. distribute the load as it is in the water, under way, mid ship back. the front roller and bow stop will carry that portion.

Re: Trailer rollers

Ideally,....... Every Roller would support the Exact Same Load...........

Alot of Keel Rollers are only a 5/8th" axle,........
They Won't Take the Weight......Unless we're talking about a Rowboat.......

Re: Trailer rollers

thanks for the help the boat has been moored all its life untill recently, now ive aquired a trailer and have added more rollers, the boat is a 1993 Bayliner Ciera 2255 about 4000+ pounds the previous owner only had 8 rollers other than keel

(4 pairs) so i removed them and replaced them with 4 sets of quads and have moved the 4 sets of pairs further forward i still want to add an additional set of quads between the existing giving 32 instead of the 24 now (excluding keel rollers of which there are 6)

Regards Ewen
