I have a tandom EZ Loader roller trailer that I am overhauling. I have replaced the brake assemblies, lights with leds, bearings, jack, winch cable, brake lines with stainless steel lines, equalizers, etc. etc. I am doing the work with the boat on the trailer.

I think that I may have a problem with some of the rollers but until I get the boat launched and off the trailer I won't know for sure.

My question is:

The rollers are held on by what looks like hog rings. Is there some special tool needed to remove the rollers and if so where do I get one. Looked on-line at Champion trailers and at Eastern Marine but didn't see a hog ring tool. Thanks in advance for your replies!!!

Re: Trailer Roller Replacement

When I replaced my rollers I used pliers and a pry tool (like a screwdriver). Some were a real bear to remove because they rusted in and broke off. I even used a tourch to heat them up and wiggle them till they were able to be removed. I did not reuse any of the old hog rings. The replacement rollers are the poly type (yellow) and are well worth the money.
