if you can find a rim that will fit the hub, go for it. if you are only towing short distances you can use a car tire, until you can afford trailer tires. trailer tires are totally different if towing long distances, the side walls are much stronger, to handle the swerve of the trailer, and other abuse they take.

Check your bolt pattern. Most are 5X4.5 which is a standard ford pattern, ranger, mustang, and so on. I have ford ranger wheels on mine, thats why they don't last long in a wrecking yard. You can always slot the holes in the fenders for clearances. Hope this helps.

slot the holes is so you can move the fender up for clearance of the tire. i put ford ranger wheels on my inboard/outboard trailer, but i had to grind the center of the wheel to fit over the hub. use a grinding wheel in an electric drill.

You need to be careful when swapping wheels these days. Not all wheels are manufactured with the same lug nut taper. Putting the wrong lug nuts on a wheel with a mismatched taper can cause them to loosen. Once loose the wheel will chew through the lugs in a hurry and the wheel will pass you and end up hitting a car or disappearing into a field.

Why replace the rims? Are they damaged?
