what do you do with your boat when you have
to do trailer repairs ?
ideally, i would dump the boat in the water
and tie it up at a marina while doing the job,
but there's nothing close.

Re: trailer repairs

Block it. In the "old days", we'd crank the boat off the trailer a few feet, then rest the corners of the stern on concrete blocks with wood "pads". Slowly pull forward while placing blocks under the keel.

Nowadays, they use them new-fangled metal stands...look much safer. It's amazing I'm still alive having pulled some of the stunts I did...

Ayuh,...... It depends on What you're looking to Do......

I've done it like Danny Ocean, Many Times.....

Only Differences is,..... I'd drop the boat onto Old Used Truck Tires..........

Re: trailer repairs

I recently changed all my keel rollers(5) with STOLTZ's. I simply used my Garage jack to raise (just enough to loosen the brackets) the bow end to replace the bow end rollers there; and repeat the process for the stern end rollers.

I don't know about your boat, but my boat has the srongest structure at the keel, so that's where I placed the jack at. I made a V-cut out of scrap 4x4 plus some rag over it so that it won't scratch the bottom before jacking it up; like this:

Hope that helps! :)
