There is no way you can get the bunks set up properly without the boat on the trailer. There is only one place to adjust them -- at the supports they are secured to. Usually a "U" bolt around a pipe or just bolts through the frame. Loosen them and raise or lower as required. You actually have several adjustments to consider. First get the boat on the trailer. Move the bow stop for/aft so the transom is supported by the bunks. If there is a large gap between the back of the boat and the bunks and the keel is sitting on the rollers, adjust the bunks upward next time you launch the boat. (Take tools with you -- it only takes a couple of minutes). If bunks are too high the keel will not touch the rollers. Lower them. Once the boat is on the trailer its pretty obvious what needs to be adjusted. Last, measure tongue weight. You want 8 - 10% of the weight of the boat/trailer combination on the tongue. Move the axle forward or back to make the adjustment.

Pinto -- ya gotta slide a period in there once in awhile to give a geezer a chance to catch his breath. :) There is no way you can get the bunks set up properly without the boat on the trailer. You actually have several adjustments to consider. First get the boat on the trailer. Move the bow stop for/aft so the transom does not extend past the end of the bunks. If there is a large gap between the back of the boat and the bunks and the keel is sitting on the rollers, adjust the bunks upward next time you launch the boat. You can start by measuring the height of the bunks above the trailer frame, to get 'em even and level. Might have to load & unload the boat a couple times to get it just right.
