Trailer Lights

I am looking for a suggestion...<br /><br />My trailer lights work great: Brakes and both blinkers are fine. Running lights are fine. (Vehicle headlights turn on the trailer lights.)<br /><br />However, when the running lights are on, the break lights and the blinkers do not work.<br /><br />Any guesses as to why? I use a Ford Expidetion and plug into the standard factory recepticle. (prongs)

In my opinion, any trailer lights functioning in an unexpected way should cause suspicion with the grounding system. I don't rely on trailer to hitch grounding - I always use wire.
