Re: trailer light trouble

Hi, it could be either wrong bulbs or the socket the bulbs fit in is corroded, or not grounding t5he bulb correctly, usually trsailers take an 1157 bulb cause they park and turn, stop with one bulb, under the bulb is 2 "pins", these 2 pins must make good contact with the 2 "pins" in the bottom of the socket, after that has been determined, try to squeeze the metal socket a little bit so it contacts the metal part of the bulb, this is what creates ground, try that and see what it does.

Re: trailer light trouble

My oem lights went to crap after 1 season of bay launches. Salt water just ate them up. Bite the bullit and drop $50 - $60 on a set of LED trailer lights and marker lights. Solder all connections and use heat shrink tube over the connections. A dab of silicone sealer is good backup protection.

You won't have any problems from corrossion again. And its worth the piece of mind to know that even in the rain at night, your tail lights and marker lights are burning bright. Be seen and be safe.

Re: trailer light trouble

Take'em back out and apply some dielectric grease to the bulb and socket.

Less corrosion!!!
