I just purchased a direct fit T adapter trailer light kit for my 1993 Ford Ranger. I hooked up the adapter and then plugged it into my original trailer adapter. But I noticed there are 4 wires total coming off the new truck adapter and my original trailer ( the female adapter) has 5 wires total. Will this work before I start tracing wires and changing the bulbs. Photo Enclosed.

I was getting very low voltage coming off the truck adapter. I forgot to ground it to the truck chassis. It's all good now.

Not all trailers are wired that way. Some have the 4 wires in the connector, and run the running lights to one taillight and then the other. What you have is a bit better in corrosive environments, as it has one less bare connection to get dirty.
