My boat is in the dry stack but my boat trailer is in my back yard. I removed the tires and put them in the garage. I covered the winch with a heavy duty trash bag. I lubed up the coupler and put some 3-in-1 oil on the bunk pivot points. Is there anything else you guys/gals recommend? Should I cover the bunks and wheel drums? What's your experience?

Re: Trailer Layup

You've already done way more than anybody else on the planet does. The trailer is the most neglected part of a boat package. Sounds like you have the bases very well covered.

The one additional thing I might advise is to remove the bunks and store them inside. UV from the sun deteriorates the carpet. Covering them would help too.

I spray white lithium on the drums, remove in spring with brakes clean. Rust will form if you cover them w/out ventilation.
