Trailer for Whaler Outrage 21

I'm shopping for a trailer for a Boston Outrage 21. I assume I should be looking for a tandem axel model, but what about brakes? Are surge brakes a requirement when pulling a boat this size? Thanks.

You want a keel roller trailer, fst.

They make single axle trailers that will handle up to 3,000lb. That would be my preference, but duals are more common.

Brakes on trailers over 3,000 are required everywhere. CA requires brakes over 1500lb.

What your boat weighs depends on the year. Recent Outrage 21s weigh 2300 to 2500lb dry.
