First off - I was having trouble with my left light on my trailer. It would barely light up when both the trailer brakes and the turns signal where on. From reading the many posts on trailer lights, I went straight to the ground, and sure enought that was the problem. I just wanted to say thank you!

Next - While I was working under the trailer, I noticed that it may be time to replace the Bunks on the trailer. Why type of wood should I replace them with? The trailer has Keel Rolers, where most of the weight of the boat sit. Would there be any benefit of use 6" wide bunks in place of the 4" wide bunks that are currently there? I am just curious.

Thanks

Re: Trailer Bunks

You will need to use marine grade wood (pressure treated), because of the carpet that is on it holds water to it.

Dirty ol' stinking grounds-... :D

Cypress wood's best, but pressure treated will do just fine as well... And wider bunks could'nt hurt..

Re: Trailer Bunks

Been there, done that, with my BassTracker. I got treated wood and carpet remnants, made them up to size, then got new bolts and worked the old ones loose. Took the rig to a boat ramp, put the boat in the water, and got busy with my cordless drill. Not too bad of a job, good luck.m
