Trailer brakes

I have a 25 foot crest III pontoon boat with a MTI trailer dual axel. Is it possible to add brakes to this and if so is it a do it yourselfer kinda thing and possible a cost range or where i might can find the items needed.<br /><br /><br />Best Regards

For starters, 'ToonDude, if your rig weighs over 3,000# brakes are required by law anywhere, but in GA they are required on any rig over 2,000#.<br /><br />You can get DIY kits from Champion Trailers. Google can find their site for you.<br /><br />Good luck. :)

It seems very odd that a boat and trailer this size would have been sold without brakes. <br /><br />Champion Trailer does have the necessary parts for this. Check their prices online at:<br /><br /> http://www.championtrailers.com/ <br /><br />There are other vendors also, and if you're not comfortable with this type of work you could have a trailer shop do it for you. In any event, get brakes on this rig unless you're just towing it a mile or so in a beach community.
