trailer brakes

there's an article in the new trailer boats that<br />gives the required trailering specs. 4 each state.<br />being in NY, it shows 3000lbs. hey JB, is this<br />correct? thought it was less??? :confused:

loadrite website gives lots of good info and advise on trailering. provides a spreadsheet for all the regs for each state. lists ny as 3000lbs.

Howdy MY.<br /><br />My 2001 Rand McNally gives it as 1,000lb. That is (was?) the lowest anywhere and sort of overkill.<br /><br />Maybe those Yankees woke up and changed it. :)

The New York State web site downloadable form for required equipment states; "Trailers weighing over 1000 pounds unladen, and trailers having a maximum gross weight in excess of 3000 pounds, must be equipped with brakes." Form MV-529C. Hope this helps.
