I am going to be rewiring my boat (Wellcraft Steplift V20) and rewiring my trailer. I understand that crimping connections is a good way to go. Also, using adhesive lined shrink tubing to cover the splice is a wise practice. There are adhesive lined shrink tubing assortments available, but are very expensive and supply some sizes that I may never use. What individual sizes of shrink tubing should I buy that will cover most boat wiring applications? I don't exactly know the common wire sizes in my boat or trailer, but would like to have most of the right sizes on hand. The shrink tubing that I am looking at have a shrink ratio of 3:1. The wire I intend to use in the boat is tinned marine wire the same gauge as was originally in the boat. Any leads as to where I can buy the wire at a reasonable price?

The best thing to use is the crimp butt connectors that shrink and seal. Wal-mart has them in small packages so you can pick and choose.
