To get in the ballpark, check the sidewall of the tire for the load rating and multiply by 2. For example, if the tires have a max load capacity of 1375 lbs each you have a GVWR of roughly 2750 pounds. That capacity however is not what the trailer will haul. You need to subtract the trailer weight to determine what the actual "load capacity" is. Load capacity is the weight of the boat and everything in or on it. If the tires are not original, you have no idea what the actual GVWR is. But again, you can count spring leafs and then check some on-line catalogs to determine spring rate which will also get you close.

You can pull the wheel and hub assembly and measure the inner and outer wheel bearings. If the spindle has 1-1/16 inner and outer bearings, it is a 2000# axle. If it has 1-1/16 outer and 1-3/8 inner bearing it is a 3500# axle. Note that its AXLE rating. But generally if that capacity axle is installed, the trailer is sprung for it as well. I suspect with three leafs you have a 2000 - 2200 pound axle.

Sounds like you have the same trailer as I got with the '87 Tracker Tournament V17 purchase I made last year. Sorry, but the tag on my trailer is missing also.
