This is an old thread but some knowledgeable folks here. Can someone explain which switch operates what on a 2000 Tracker Deep V livewell. There is a rocker switch on the driver console and a toggle on the front bulkhead. When I activate the front switch, I get a lot of noise. The console switch doesn't seem to do anything. I think I need a new pump at the transom. BTW I inadvertently left the front toggle on for weeks and destroyed the battery and maybe both pumps. Thanks for any help.

A 17 year old boat has likely had more than one owner and any one of them likely has done some "creative wiring" so just because switches used to do a specific task when the boat was new, is no guarantee the switch does the same thing (or anything for that matter) any longer. So -- check for and make a list of your boats accessory items. Operate each switch and see if lights come on, motors whir, radio comes on, etc. Items you have on the boat that don't work have a switch to turn them on and off. Check for 12 volts INTO the switch and 12 volts OUT of the switch with the switch turned on. If that's ok, then wiring or the item is at fault. Don't always assume the electrical item is broken because there is a high chance it is wiring related.

I've been doing the detective work today with a voltmeter. The front bulkhead toggle powers only the aerator recirc pump. The rocker at the console in the manual position powers the transom pump. The rocker has an auto position which I think operates the aerator intermittently. Both motors run when connected straight across a battery. I think I have this sorted out.

While we are at it, the bilge pump is dead, no voltage. I looked in the 10 position fuse panel and there were only 8 fuses. I plugged a spare into #4 and the LED on the bilge switch now lights, but still no power to the bilge leads. The bilge pump used to work, but I haven't needed it for several yrs after sorting out most of the bad rivets. Any clues out there?

Your observation is on the mark with a 17 yr old boat. I have had it for 8 yrs and who knows before that. Someone married to "Debi Lynn" owned it at some point. What I have observed is that color codes on wires seem consistent, so I don't think anything has been patched in.
