towing

While I can't speak for the Dodge, I have a '99 F-150 Supercab with the 4.6l (220hp), 3.55:1 gears, and auto xmission. I picked up a 3200lb rig a couple weeks ago and drug it through the smokeys. Had no lack of power. If I did mountain towing more often, I would prefer the 5.4l @ 260hp. I know this wasn't the brand you were looking for, but it is a similar load with similar size truck.

Hi, Jason.<br /><br />I think you intended to reply to a post and made a new thread instead.<br /><br />I think you would find the 4.6L engine and 5 speed auto with 3.73 or even 4.11 gears would be a completely different animal when towing in the mountains. Full towing package is a good idea.<br /><br />I would certainly prefer that to the Dodge.
