I have a 16' Trihull with an 85 HP outboard. I just installed a power tilt and trim unit. I also added the trailering bracket which allows the motor to rest on it while in the down position. It is a Force moter, do I need a transom saver or is it safe towing this way?

I believe that the trailer bracket that you mention is what we call a transom saver. Sounds like the same thing to me. It fits between the back of the trailer and the skeg of the motor.

Get a transom saver, Beginner. It will also save your T'n'T and your skeg.

Red sky at night. . .
JB :)

Cabela's sells one that works with that situation. I believe it is about $40.
