I Bought the boat I have when I had a Ford Ranger Supercab.
The Ranger did a fairly good job of towing the boat.
I then Upgraded to an F-150 SuperCrew. It had no issues towing the boat.

I then purchased a new Chevy Colorado Crewcab to replace the F-150. Gas milage.

Basically it feels like the F-150 pulling the boat. There are no power problems at all and on the big hills it does downshift to 2nd but pulls the hills like a champ!

The Ranger had a V-6 of 3.0L and a 5 speed Tranny. It was always shifting andd going in and out of lockup constantly but was smoot in doing so.

The F-150 , 5.4L 4 speed auto, also went in and out of lockup all the time on the hills and also downshifted to 2nd.

The Chevy 3.5L 5 cylinder 4 speed auto, hardly left lockup till it had to downshift to 2nd. Also I am towing at 5000-6000 Ft altitude.

Boat is 2000 lbs.

Basically I like the way the Chevy tows the boat. I thought it would be OK but its actually the truck I would use all the time If I had a choice.
