towing with a toyota truck?

hi guys,<br />ive got a toyota truck ,2wd, 4cylinder,auto. and i just got a 19 footer . it weighs roughly with trailer 2400 lbs. ,my little yota is rated for 3500lbs. max..<br />i wanted to know what i can do to make this truck tow a little better. i have installed the biggest transcooler i could get in ther.. a new radiator, with more rows for cooling, aclass3 hitch. is there any shocks i could get for that truck that is made for towing. the boat makes it squat a little too much for my taste but it pulls like achamp.. any suggestions?/

Does it have leaf springs? spring helpers could work or find some air shocks to fit it.<br />I hope the trailer has brakes! <br />That is a lot of weight for a little toyota to get stopped.<br />I used to pull a 19 footer with a chevy s-10,I ended up putting helper springs on the rear. It helped the squat alot but i never felt safe at highway speeds with that large of boat and a little truck.

it has springs..the trailer does have brakes

investigate weight distributing hitch and sway bar. it should work with your reciever.

Get a set of Coilover shocks for the rear end.<br />I have a 1992 toyota and it has been towing and stopping boats since brand new.<br />The stock springs and shocks were pretty much gone this last winter and I replaced my leaf springs with stock replacements and coil over shocks. It rides much better now than before. <br />Good luck.

bluewater..is your toyota a 2wd ..4cylinder? my rearend has springs. what kind of coilover shocks did u use.. what size boat u tow?

What is the tongue weight of the trailer loaded? If it makes the truck squat heavily in the rear, sounds like the boat may be a little too far forward.

I run airlifts on my Tacoma, the rear end is dead level now and the handling has improved greatly.
