Hi
I am just wondering if it is ok to pull a 14 foot aluminum boat with a 9.9hp motor with a 2002 Chevrolet Impala. I believe the towing capacity is 2000 lbs but I'm not positive. I have no idea how much a boat this size would weigh. I am specifically looking at this boat, its a 14 foot mirrorcraft. Thanks!

I would think it would be fine, the boat and trailer will be less than 1000.

I had a 2002 Impala and towed my 14' aluminum boat fine with an 18 hp motor, fuel, anchor and tackle. No problems

I'll keep it simple.

With what you are towing...If you can get a hitch for the Impala, you can tow it.

I did it with an '02 and similar setup for years, it worked fine.

With any tow vehicle question, look first at the towing capacity of your car, every vehicle has a published tow capacity. Your's is around 1000 - 1100 lbs. Next of course how heavy is your load. We would estimate that the boat you describe is less than that, but rather than take only our word for you, you should 1. Get your actual vehicle towing capacity 2. weigh your boat/motor/trailer they add gear and fuel.

That's the only way to tell.

Of course you need a good hitch installed properly.
