Can you tow a stand up jet ski behind a 24 foot boat? I have seen it done with a sit down, but not a stand up? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Mike

I do not see why you can't but you need to be aware of one thing. you must pinch off the water intake tube from the pump to the engine or you can flood the engine due to water being forced in the jet while towing, it would be the same as turning on the flush kit with the engine not running.

From my own experience doing this with a Kawasaki stand-up (although with a 16' boat), you'd be better off hauling up on your swim platform if you have one that runs the full width of your boat.

I've done it both ways...towing it is a little hairy if you try to throttle anything over an idle towing the ski. The one time we hauled it up accross the back of the boat (no full swim step)...it did work better, but being a relatively small boat, we had to shift a lot of weight to the bow...you might not have that problem to such a degree, I can't speak for your boat. Good luck

From my experience having to have my stand up towed I'd opt for pulling it out. I found if pulled at anything over idle the bow had a tendancy to pitch and start subing.. due to a full tank of gas.

Most owners manuals indicate that PWC's should not be towed. I am most familiar with Bombardier Seadoo's...they say it's a no-no, could be the same for stand ups.

I installed a ball valve in the line that runs from my pump to exhaust manifold. No worry about line breaking down from pinching, but I put lanyard on the valve when it is closed, as you could have a big problem if you ran it like that!
