I've towed my ski twice. The first time it was very hard to start, but I had a good battery and was able to turn it over. The second time, no joy. I ended up changing the plugs and it started right up!! I'm told when it was under tow, the oil delivery system still pumped oil to the cylinder heads causing it to basically flood with oil. The plugs were soaked with oil when I removed them. Is it okay to tow this ski? What do I have to do to avoid this??

I don't know of and never heard of the oil pump pumping oil during towing and I can't see how it could, but never tow a ski without crimping off the hose from the pump that delivers water to the engine, it floods water in to the crank case and will ruin your engine, also don't crimp the hose and forget, or you will also ruin your engine, when crimping the hose place the lanyard in the ski by where you crimped the water hose so you have no choice but to remember that it is blocked off.

Thanks for the info. It sounds like my problem is water not oil. It sounded strange to me as well that the oil would continue to pump while in tow. I think I will try to isolate the water line and tow it again.
