Hi,

we want to buy a Maxum 18' boat with an inboard Mercruiser 130hp.

I want to tow it with a Nissan Rogue AWD 2008 and a Mazda 6 (with 6 valves).
On my Rogue I have an independent cooler for the transmission fluid and it is all wheel drive.

What do you think about that, is it unthinkable?

Thanks!

completely unrealistic!

The towing capacity of a rouge is only around 1,500 lbs I recall and a Mazda 6. Sorry, but the only thing you might handle is a small aluminum john boat or 13' whaler type craft.

You can find boat and outboard weights on the NADA site, just look for the boat tab as opposed to automobiles.

Most 18' boats are in the 3,000 lb range. The towing capacity of the vehicle includes the weight of the trailer and the occupants, boat fuel, and gear.

Not sure either of those will tow a Maxum 18' boat loaded for a day of fun. The max towing capacity of the Rogue is 1500 lbs and the Mazda 6 is 800 lbs. The Maxum 1800 SR3 weighs in at around 3100 lbs on the trailer. You'll need something that is rated at 3500 lbs towing capacity to tow the Maxum to your favorite ramp.

find a cheap tow rig for around 1000 and subtract it from the amount you can afford. My recommendation would be an older Jeep Cherokee.
