I'm about to acquire a 16ft bowrider with an outboard. Would like to get the rope out of the water and I'm considering the options. Kids are learning to knee/wakeboard, so I'm wondering what your thoughts are. Cost and installation are always a factor, but I'm getting a great deal on the boat, so can afford to splurge a little bit. Thanks.

While a tower would be great, it just didn't make sense for me and my boat. I went with a pylon. We skied off the transom hooks last year and I also wanted the rope put of the water. I hope this does the trick and I am looking forward to testing it with a board on the water behind it.

How was the install on that? Seems that running the main stick through that portion of the boat might be a little weak. Does it run all the way through the floor, or just bolted to the wood?

The install is actually still in progress. The pylon is bolted through the wood backed by a single piece of steel strap, as are the four lag bolts. So the boat is sandwiched in between the two. Two lags will be added at each side near the gunwales. I still need to rip down two pieces of the Brazilian redwood that will be mounted in the splashwell where it meets the gunwales...if that makes sense. That is where the support arms will be mounted. It will be super strong...we will see if it proves to be strong enough.
