Tower Shaft/Neutral Stop Question

Hi all

I was meant to go out today to do a link and sync ( thanks for the sticky Frank) and the weather was complete crud. Anyhow, when my 125 hp 1988 Force is idling, the idle 'creeps' up, and the tower shaft moves all on its own. The mounting screws were loose, and I am yet to check if this still happens, however, should the tower shaft be tightened with the mounts to 'super tight', or should there be movement? Also, in the manual there is the Neutral Stop Arm. My boat will go from forward to reverse sometimes without pulling up on the red lever ( to engage gear). Is this related to the Neutral Stop Arm? Cheers

Re: Tower Shaft/Neutral Stop Question

Tower shaft mounting screws loose are part of the problem and the rest of the creeping is due to incorrectly set control cable. Do yourself a favor and read the last page of spool's 105 hp engine. it shows a number of photos for adjustment purposes.

As far as red lever--I need a photo of the control box.
