Tower of power fuel problem

I recently got a late 70s mercury 1150. Rewired it, rebuilt carbs, fuel pumps and ran all new fuel lines. I cam prime fuel just fine, however, once started it basically cleans the bowls and dies. Then needs primed again. Engine seems to be doing great other than the fuel issue. Has anyone else had this problem?

I always suggest posting the compression numbers.----Does it keep running if an assistant operates the manual pump ?

Yea itll continue to run if someone manually primes. I dont have the compression numbers atm. Hopefully get those tested in a few days

The fuel pump is driven by crankcase PRESSURE so maybe there is an issue there.----Your rebuilt pump cannot work if there is no pressure.

Okay, compression on all cylinders is 135-140, respectively. This honestly surprised me.
