Tow rope question

I have a body glove 2 section rope for 1-2 person towing. My question is this it has a foam float on it. The float is on the end that is 50' long. Is this the end the goes onto the tube? Does the 10' section attach to the boat? Not sure why you would even need a 2 section rope for this.

It may be a stupid question, but I really have no idea. Why even have the foam float on it, one end is attached to a floating tube and the other to the boat, that if all is going well is also floating? I understand for ski ropes when the rope will be floating in the water, but why on this rope?

Re: Tow rope question

Attach the 10' section to the boat, then attach the foam float end of the 50' section to the end of the 10' section. The far end of the 50' section attached to the tube.

The float being 10' out from the boat will keep the rope above water so that it does not get caught in the boat's wake and affect the ride or cause weird pulling on the back of the boat when you turn.

Re: Tow rope question

Thank you. Guess I have all ways used the old school ropes that are 1 section and do not have foam floats on them.
