Your springs are mounted on a movable carriage, Bobby.

Move the boat forward until you have support directly under the transom.

Weigh the trailer with boat. Adjust the position of the suspension carriage where it attaches to the frame so the you have 10% of the total weight on the tongue.

Good luck. :)

Re: tounge weight

Some will move if its a cheaper trailer it more than likely won't, try moving your winch post forward about 6" that should give you more tounge weight. Just loosten the bolts and slide it forward.

Move your winch stand until the rear rollers are dead even with the back of the boat. They should be there anyway.

See how that works out.

hey jb. im a little confused on the tongue weight issue also.right now i have approx 50 lb. on the tongue, but my boat is 2500 lb. at 10% that means i should have approx 250 lb of tongue weight??? that seems like alot.right now boat tows beautiful, no swaying at all. what do u think ???.....bob

I think you have been really lucky so far. You need at least another 200 lbs. on the tongue if you're pulling 2500#.

I used to think like you, but every time I pull a new or unframilar trailer, and it starts acting squirly - it will always staighten out with the addition of more tongue weight.

Count your blessings that nothing has happened yet.
