I have a 1993 Force 70 by Mercury/Mariner. The serial number is OE023524. I bought a Mercury/Mariner 1990-1994 repair manual. States that it covers 40-125hp. I figured the 70 represented the hp. The manual goes up tp 65hp then jumps to 75hp and up. It is the classic black color and plainly has printed on the front and back of the cowl "Force by Mercury/Mariner". Where did I go wrong?

Re: Totally frustrated

You need a manual specific to Force motors. Look for Clymer or Seloc Froce manuals. The factory service manual would be even better.

Re: Totally frustrated

Mercury bought out the Force line of engines along with the Bayliner boat company. I don't know how long the Force engines were in production after the buy out. See if you can find a Chrysler/Force manual. You should find your engine in one of their manuals.

Re: Totally frustrated

Thanks for the info guys. Is this a Force in Mercury clothing? Hate to have two manuals and neither fits.

Re: Totally frustrated

If you look real close, you'll see that the motor has on it "Force by Mercury Marine" It is in NO WAY a Mercury or Meriner outboard. It is an old Chrysler outboard that has a Mercury lower unit and a few electronic upgrades. You will need a Force/Chrysler Manual. Mercury dropped the Force line last year.

Craig

Its my understanding the only thing on your motor that's Mercury is the name.

I knew I would get the scoop from you guys. The manual is on order. First problem solved, now on to my lower unit noise as soon as I read the manual. :(
