torque value

Hello, I have a 1990 Force 35 HP motor that i'm installing a new head gasket, does anyone know the torque value for the head bolts?

1/4 X 20 (7/16 heads) take 70 inch pounds. 5/16 bolts (1/2 inch heads) take 225 INCH pounds. Do it in three steps. 3/8 bolts (9/16 heads ) take slightly more, standard torque value--I forget exactly how much.

Thank you for the info Frank, they are a 1/2 head, so i will torque then to 225 inch lbs, thanks again

20# with a regular tourqe wrench.If you don't have an inch pounds.J

i just found my service manuel and it said to go to 270 inch lbs, where did you get 225 inch lbs at?
