I think it is 100-104... is that correct?

Also... do you put any lube on the cam for the points? If so, what type? There is a small felt pad there..

This Service bulletin from 1959 shows 60-65 lbs/ft.

Not on the cam itself really. The points set may have come with a small capsule of points lube, I like to put a little dab in the crook of the rubbing block on the points where it rides on he cam. The pad that came with the points is prelubed so no extra lube is required for that. If you're reusing points I don't think there is anything particularly special about the grease supplied with new points Other than it's quite thick. Any heavy bodied chassis grease should work fine. Finding a tube of points lube these days might be a bit tough. The main thing is don't overdo it. A very little goes a long way.

Cheers..................Todd

60-65 is correct on that '57 35hp motor. 100+ is way overtorquing it and may spread the taper, causing irrepairable damage to the flywheel.

Thanks FR... I was thinking of installing a kill switch so I need to open it up anyway... Any tips on lube for the points? While I have it open? I was told to be sure the spindle is very clean before I replace the flywheel, so I will be sure to clean it with some alchohol or mineral spirits...

If you are reusing the felt, a drop or two of oil can be added, 10W30 is is OK.
New felt is almost always pre-lubed.
As stated above, no more....a little goes a long way.
